DF Photos Screen Saver - Alphabetical [DisplayFusion]

I run 2 screens, soon to be 3, and when I set the DF Photos Screen Saver to run as alphabetical, the same pic comes up on both screens, but when I choose random, they differ - shouldn't alphabetical also have a different pic on each screen?

I just upgraded to Win 8 and I'm having the exact same issue. I've got Win 8 x64 & Display Fusion Pro 5.1.0 (Beta 5) installed.

I've attached my log file following your instructions. The problem persisted even after restart DF - I haven't tried restarting Windows yet...

Edit: I just saw the advanced setting for the DF Alt+Tab handler and that seems to do the trick.

Congrats on the Rift, I just got my Hydra and can't wait until the Rift is more affordable.

I love this software, for me this is the last thing its missing.

*EDIT* I just found out Display Fusion is sold on Steam now. This kind of makes this option a must have doesn't it? To focus on the gaming community without the software able to control the one view mode most games are played in seems a bit odd.

I just found this thread and I can confirm that this issue:
"3) This is the least serious issue, but still an annoyance. I designated hot keys for each of the two profiles I set up (one with the smaller monitor as primary, and one with the TV as primary). Sometimes, when hitting the hotkey, it sort of begins to switch to the other profile, but the "do you want to keep this config" dialog never appears, and within seconds, it snaps back to the previous profile. This seemed to be happening about 30% of the time when I tried to switch profiles."

happens to me on 5.0.1 on windows 7. Exactly as described, its almost as if it thinks about switching, goes off the first profile then hits the second profile and reverts automatically. This is on the full version.

I did setup debugging and will let you know as soon as it repeats (probably mon/tues) but I just remembered another detail that I should let you know about when I remote desktop into the machine I use these arguments to remote desktop /w:2800 /h:1160

I know, in Apr 2012 was a discussion about this wish.

Because I'm changing my workplace very often (means: the connected network and monitors is changing)
I use BGInfo to show the currently active network adapter, -speed and ip-address.
Tags in BGInfo:
host: (already implemented)
ip:
speed:

ip-tag and speed-tag shows 3 items (2 LAN-adapters and 1 WLAN)

And as you mentioned: "As for the Info Tags in DisplayFusion, if you can let me know what tags you'd like to see added to them, we'll certainly add them to our feature request list."

My wish for the feature request list: 2 new info tags, ip and speed of the network-adapters

Thanks for your reply I forgot to post that the button looked right until the last mayor version of displayfusion. However, downgrading to 4.x didn't fix it.

I'm not sure if this should be a reply to this thread or not. How do I unpin an item from a pinned program? And how do I remove the recent items? In the windows taskbar, it is a right click feature. But I can't seem to find one for DisplayFusion. I checked, and "Combine with Taskbar Buttons" is selected. I am racking up quite a few excel "recent items," and it's cluttering my pin. Thanks!

Well, it's been 2 weeks since I turned on debugging and I haven't had a single issue with the alt-tab handler on my work computer and I use it all the time. Either you guys fixed it somehow or the gremlins are being particularly mean to me!

Seems like you got it Keegan.

I used X-Mouse Controls on my setup to get the focus on windows while hovering them. Disabling X-Mouse fixes the cursor jumping issue, and re-enabling it causes the issue to occur again.

Tested with DF 5.0.1.

no, full administrator. the link I posted was the answer. the way applications run at startup has changed between Windows 7 and Windows 8.

All is good now. as well as other applications that wouldn't run at startup

There's unfortunately no Mac version of DisplayFusion at the moment.

The wallpaper request will be coming in a future version, so we'll be sure to post an update here as soon as it's available. It won't be available in the screen saver initially, but we'll certainly add it to our feature request list.

Those ones should work. When you right-click the taskbar shortcut and choose "Edit this pinned item," does the "Force application..." checkbox not show up? If not, could you send me a screenshot of the edit window?

I THINK FIGURED IT OUT

I was having this problem too, and it was driving me absolutely mad (still is, so please find some way to fix).

I think the issue has to do with your mouse focus settings. You probably adjusted them in the control panel to focus on whatever you're hovering over right? Well somehow this is messing with displayfusion's process of opening up a start menu in such a way that it is forced to re-focus your pointer.

I used this guide to adjust my mouse focus settings to act more like Ubuntu's X11 mouse focus via hover ones.

If you want to replicate this issue, install the most recent version of DF and follow that guide to the letter.

I would say "well, this is kinda our issue" but then again, the whole point of this program is for multi-monitor functionality. Mouse focus by hovering over a window is also very important (at least to me) when it comes to doing multi-monitor.

How would I set up a profile? to have one wallpaper stretch across an eyefinity (3) set up, than different wallpapers on 2 other screens? than said profile to work with the screen saver as well. Is there a Mac version of this as well?

Same problem as OP
Only the Apps FOUND by DF will launch in the secondary monitor task Bar
If you add an App by browsing for the .exe there is NO option to edit "Force Monitor"

What does work for me is ...
FireFox Nightly
Adobe LightRoom
Thunderbird

What does not work is ... (browsed exe's)
Adobe PhotoShop CS6
Media Player Classic

Hoping it can be fixed

Hi,
I have an issue where the taskbar is not appearing on the second screen after logging in, even though the DisplayFusion service is running. I have a x64 system. If I re-run DisplayFusion, the taskbar appears and all is good.

Has anyone seen this issue apart from myself?

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue here yet after about 20 RDP/console logins. Would you be able to do the following to help troubleshoot this issue?

Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply

Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)

This topic is fine

That option is to set how many lines will be shown in the preview pane after a result has been found. It only works when "Match query line by line" is enabled on the Advanced tab.

For example, if your file was like this:

Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
Line 4

And you've set the option to 1, then you query for "Line 2", it will show the following in the preview pane of the search results when you select the file:

Line 2
Line 3

The lang file is actually newer, as we've changed some strings in it since FileSeek 3.0. Could you try updating to FileSeek 3.0.1 Beta 1 from the link below?

Evaluating Pro [DisplayFusion]

Hi,
I'm evaluating whether I want to purchase the Pro version.
I would like a taskbar on each monitor with only the things on THAT monitor to show on THAT taskbar.
For instance:
A windows sticky note is on mon 2
But, the taskbar on Mon 2 doesn't show it..it's only on the taskbar on mon 1, which doesn't have the sticky notes.
windows 7.
In DF settings I have "Windows taskbar shows all windows. Display Fusion shows relevant windows"
Is this possible to have only what's on the taskbar to show whats on the specific monitor?

I have been translated into Russian, and when installed the trial version, began to translate the lang file. Then registered on the site in a group of translators and began to translate the website. When I downloaded the translation (from the site), and you add a folder and run the program it does not see it.
Then I compared the two files and saw that the file from the site there are lines that are not in my first translation.

Yeah man. It was as soon as you asked if I could use the wallpapers regularly without DisplayFusion. I couldn't, so I guess I figured the problem from there.
