The Problem:

I have a highlighting rule that matches on "Debug:", and our logs are full of such lines. The problem is that since every rule that matches shows up as a red line in the right hand scrollbar, the entire scrollbar is just solid red, which isn't very useful for spotting lines of interest.

Suggestion:

On the Edit Highlight dialog box, add a checkbox called "Show in scrollbar". This would default to "on" to maintain existing behavior.

If I had such a checkbox, I could uncheck it for my Debug rule.

Yes, that's right. I have a Debug rule and an Error rule that are on all the time, and I define other ad hoc rules as necessary.
