I have been looking but I may not be using the right phrasing. I have W3C logs and want to for example see where only status 301 appears in that column. Is there a good way to do this or am I stuck with just putting in 301 and ignoring the extra results?

Unfortunatley the filter only works on the whole line. However, I believe the W3C log fields are space separated, so if you put this in filter (include the quotes), it should mostly only match the stuff from the status field:

" 301 "
